Cutting Edge Marine Security

When it comes to marine security, boat owners are always looking for a sturdy, reliable security system to keep their vessel secure and safe. New technologies are constantly being developed to withstand the often harsh conditions of marine life – from wind and rain to salt water corrosion.

Several new security systems out on the market today offer some interesting possibilities in marine protection.

One of these systems is the Watch Yacht Surveillance System. This device can make any smart phone or a computer located off-site into a monitoring system that remotely captures and displays live images via on board security cameras.

This type of system allows boat owners to view live video feeds of their water-craft. Owners are able to see who’s on board, what vessels are docked near them, and of course any potential intrusion on their boat. They can also monitor any temperature changes on board, change of coordinates, bilge pump problems, or electrical and battery fluctuations. This system also lets boat owners capture video feeds of their boat through a data terminal or a global monitoring system.

And, it can be customized, allowing owners to select and design their own interfaces and displays, as well as creating personalized features to control alerts and viewing of their boat.

A surveillance system such as the Watch Yacht includes video cameras for live monitoring from remote sites, and the ability to join any analog cameras already on board to the system through a converter. And this type of system also includes temperature sensors for cabins, engine room, and even bait and storage freezers.

Another cutting edge marine security technology is the Cloak System. This security system is designed to be utilized during the time gap that can occur between a violation that triggers alarm activation and the arrival of a monitoring response team or local law enforcement.

The Cloak system will keep an intruder from robbing or vandalizing your vessel, as the system is designed to fill the vessels interior with a cloud of smoke that disorients and confuses an intruder. You’ll literally have an invader blindly groping through the smoke until the response team arrives.

The cloak system creates this thick cloud by using a glycol solution. Completely safe and found in many frequently used consumer products like deodorants, the glycol is utilized to create a thick white smoke or fog guaranteed to drastically reduce visibility to as little as thirty centimeters, but without harming anyone or anything on board your boat.

Another cutting edge marine security tool is the Immobilizer, which prevents start up of single engine vessels. Controlled by a wireless key fob, this device prevents engine start up and sounds a siren.

Lastly, check out the NavTracker. This device can record and report the location of a vessel any where in the world using a satellite network to prepare and send multiple position reports in whatever interval configuration you choose, ranging from five minutes to a day; and allow you to view the location of your vessel on line.

New marine security technologies will help keep your vessel safe and potential intruders away.
